Rome—Italy's Minister of Labor and Social Policies, Marina Calderone, today unveiled a sweeping new national strategy aimed at drastically improving workplace safety across the nation. The comprehensive plan pledges increased inspections, tougher penalties, and a zero-tolerance approach to negligence, responding to persistent high rates of occupational accidents and fatalities.
