BATON ROUGE — Authorities have charged a local man with lying to police regarding the acquisition of a firearm later used by a mass shooter in a devastating incident here last month, severely impeding a critical investigation into the tragedy. Johnathan Reeves, 34, faces counts of obstruction of justice and making false statements, according to officials who announced the arrest yesterday.
Reeves was taken into custody Tuesday morning without incident after investigators developed sufficient evidence contradicting his initial account of how the firearm came into the possession of the individual identified as the Louisiana shooter.
